anyone know if these are actually of any decent quality? this is all i can fit in my trunk since i have limited space in there due to convertible top... i'm thinking of putting 2 of these:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Pioneer-1200-Watt-12-Subwoofer-Shallow-Sealed-box _W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ38646QQihZ007QQitemZ170074455175QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZW D1V

but the thing is... is it even worth it? should i even bother? will i hardly hear anything anyways?

Of course you'll hear something. I've heard good reviews about those subs. They just need the right install.

okay so if i put two pioneer TS-SW3041D... what would that compare to? i'm afraid i'll put in the $170 for the subs and then $170 for the amp and i won't feel a thing, or they'll just blow or something, they sound so cheap

thoughts?

what do you think would be the highest quality (spl and sql): the kickers, the infinitys or the pioneers?

If you put them in the right box and power it with the right amp with gain set properly, I dont see why it would sound good. Pioneer makes some well built shyt. Just do a google search on those subs and read all the reviews.

okay i want the quality over power, so i'll go with two of the infinity kappa's... thanks so much woofer...

what should i use to power them that's good quality? they are: power range: 50-350 watts RMS (1400 watts peak power)

________________________________

also: i have 7 1/4" maximum vertical height in my trunk, will the infinitis plus the size of the box they're in still be able to make it under a total of 7 1/4" ?

woofercooker: would it just be better to get two BAZOOKA BTA10200 10" AMPLIFIED 200 WATTS enclosures and put them in my trunk instead of the dual infinity setup. the bazookas will fit, but i have a good feeling that no one ever talks about them because they're terrible? but i'm not sure

You could get two boxes and put them top to top.

in response to your post above, my price range is not an issue for the amp as long as it's under $300, i don't care how i mount them, but i seriously don't think i'll be able to fit two of those in my trunk if it's 36" wide, 7 1/4" vertical with the last 8" or so being about being twice that height. so now i'm thinkin about those bazookas unless you knwo away around all this?

No. I would get the Infinity Basslink before I would get the bazooka, but no.

wait a minute, i'm seeing a way i can position everything so it works. but i'd have to put each one of the infinity's in their own box... will that greatly reduce the sound?

Give me a min and I will suggest some amps.

Why are you goin with a truck style box? Why not a hatch back style?

i'm not sure what you mean by hatch back style, but that box i showed you (http://cgi.ebay.com/12-REG-CAB-TRUCK-SUB-BOX-U-ENCLOSURE-4-SUBWOOFER-NEW_W0QQite mZ140076487106QQihZ004QQcategoryZ50568QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)

fits in my trunk so that's all i know, are you saying there is something else that would fit? maybe you mean this (http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-CAR-AUDIO-DUAL-12-WOOFER-REAR-FIRE-HATCH-SUB-BOX-U_W0QQi temZ140076549354QQihZ004QQcategoryZ14945QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) but that vertical mounting depth is too high anyway

One of those with two Infinity KAPPA122.7W wired down to 2ohms.

Go with the kick. There are some more out there, but ive got to go to work, so maybe someone else can suggest a few. I will be back on later tonight.

that kicker is a mono amp though, doesn't that mean i can only power one of the infinity's off of it? so what you're saying is get two of those kickers? i think that's too expensive to get two of those for these cheap little subs, no?

Yeah that type of box would be better because they are usually deeper and not as wide. Also the angle is on the back side. This is so you can face the subs backwards and push the back of the bow against the seat. A truck style box has the angle on the front.

No you just need one. You just wire the subs in paralell. Just do a google search on how to change ohm load and wiring sub series or paralell. If you cant figure it out, I will be back on at about 11:00pm pacific.

Im not understanding why you need a shallow mount sub if your puttin this in your trunk. Were you tryin to match the sub to the truck style enclosure?

because my trunk is 7 1/4" tall. i have a convertible and the convertible housing shelf takes up 99% of the trunk space leaving me with a vertical depth of 7 1/4"

You will be wiring the subs together making it one channel(mono) at 2ohms.

Ok well the sub require .5-1.0 cuft sealed.

So what ever box you get that fits your car just make sure that its .5-1.0. Thats the only thing you will have to worry about with the sealed enclosure, that and get a box that allows you to face the subs towards the back of the car. And try to get a box with 3/4 mdf.
