A buddy of mine made a box and it was loudest when the ports were facing towards the floor in his car, he competes that way.

home audio or car audio? ...

sound is omni directional so for a home downfiring is normally the best thing to do since it can reflect off the solid surface of the floor and project up.. in a car it is all subject to the vehicle

damn people respond faster nowadays. but im thinking if its like an inch and a 1/4 from the ground (rl-p 12 w/ 700w) that it might rattle the box up and down. then i would have to secure it and i dont want to drill holes in my car cus i take my sub out ocasianlly
