I had home depot cut two pieces so i could fit it in my car.. and well both cuts were an 1/8" off.. so i don't suggest getting your wood cut there :-)

the sad thing is i watched the guy double check the measurement

other than that i used a basic ole skilsaw

I have to build my boxes with almost no equiptment feel lucky.... i have a jigsaw, a power sander (which is to big to fit in alot of places) and then a skill saw... thats all.... its sorta a pain because of how time cunsuming it is to make sure everything is straight.... and Jack... thats why you tell them to cut it a little bigger then you want :-) but its nice, did you carpet it? and those r the 15's right?

Nice box....What are the Specs for it?

In short..

Type: Vented Box
Shape: Prism, square
Vb = 5.457 cu.ft
Fb = 45.17 Hz
F3 = 39.64 Hz
Fill = none
No. of Vents = 1
Vent shape = rectangle
Vent ends = one flush
Hv = 15.5 in
Wv = 6 in
Lv = 15.75 in

And yes I know it is a little small for 15s but I had to build the box to fit the trunk, not to fit the subs.. still gotta build the drop in port to tune down for daily

alot of times smaller box sounds better in a small car.

the plus is ill have more cone control given im using more power for the subs anyway.. and boxes that are tuned higher work fine with smaller enclosures...

i just hope it sounds decent daily tuned to 35-36hz :-)

if its tuned low enough it will have good response. i have noticed that with smaller boxes, it sounds better with the lpf on your amp set lower. the higher frequecies tend to peak more in a small box. that was the case in my box. i set the lpf down to 70hz from 90hz and it sounds much better.

I remember back in the day we ran LPF for the subs at 50/55hz and that was sealed, lol. I run mine now at around 55/60hz dependant on music type as I can set mine from inside the cabin. Anything above that is taken care of by mids, making your sub reach so high will make it sloppy, especially a 15..Polo. :-)

do you need to put resin in a box?

no.. but it seales the pores of the box making the air flow more freely with less drag..

it also adds strength

in my case im just using it to strengthen the joints where the 45s are and to help rounding off the corners even more

sometimes you can pick up some good deals but most pawn shops here go by ebay prices.. so odds are you can get something better off ebay...

but once in a while you find a stupid one and youll snag a deal :-)

Nice audio enhancer. And tool definatily make the diffrence in making boxes. Pawn shops around hear always have cheap tool. Most of em are beat and crap makes. But every so often you come across a find. So far I snaged 3 Zapcos for dirt cheap. the guy doesnt even know what they are. He calls em driving force amps.
