does anyone know what the Xmax is on a 12" HD3 by AudioQue?

does anyone have an Hd3? is so hows it sound

idk if anyone knows because they say xmax means nothing!!! lol whether its 3mm or 30mm the HD3 gets LOUD! a few people on hear have them and love them, i'll let them tell you how they sound....

i will be putting 1k at 2ohms to it in a ported 3 cubic foot box tuned to 35hz if i decide to get it. sound good?

at the moment i have a 1.75 cubic foot box ported tuned to 40 hz. would that be ok until i get the time to build the bigger box?

Your 1.75 net ported at 40 Hz will work but 2.5 net cubes at 38-40Hz will work better.

Three cubes is a little on the big side but with only 1000 rms the 3 cube box would be a little more efficient and give you a little more output.

i would still only use maximum of 2.75 cuft net on a ported HD3.

which do you think would be better to use if i made a 2.75 cubic foot box. slot or round ports?

You can use either one. If you are after max spl the round ports work better in CRX type boxes. Many people use external round ports and load off the side panels of the vehicle. I like slotted ports for daily drivers.
