Suggestions for SQ setup

This is for my brother's car....he's lookin to buy a car soon, so this is speculation...He doesn't rock out to rap or anything so he's lookin for a single 10 or 12 inch sub about 400-500 watts rms that'll be tight and sound good. He rocks to mid 90's rock, nothing extreme, some techno.. Suggestions...figure 500 budget for sub and amp

I was thinkin somethin along the lines of a 10" AA Assassin or an Fi X10 with somethin along the lines of a Kicker ZX400.1 pushin it
