I'm currently running an Alpine CDE-9852 Deck with MB Quart 5.25 RUA213 components up front. I dont plan on running subs at all because of the weight issue. I will however be running a good amp and lining most of my car with dynamat at the beginning of next month.

Which of these 6x9's do you think will provide the best sound, and the strongest bass for my rears?

Polk db690
Alpine Type-R SPR-69LP
Alpine SPS-69c3
Infinity Kappa 692.7

i did some research on the frequency responses
polk db690 35-22k hz
infinity Kappa 692.7 35-25K hz
Alpine Type-R SPR-69LP 30-30k hz
Alpine SPS-69c3 30-30k hz
I would listen between the two alpine speakers. The R should hit a touch harder but you wouldn't be dissapointed in the type s. You might want to look at the rms power ratings and match them to the specific amp you are going to run. I have the type s because i bought two type r subs. i think that the alpine speakers are some of the best available. It's a tough choice but all of them should sound better than a set of sony explodes.

I vote for the Polks. Also, the take a hefty 100wrms.
Infinitys, then Alpine.
