New member Username: Rcougar00Post Number: 1 Registered: Jan-07 | Ok..I just bought 2 10" audiobahn AW102N subs, and I was going to buy either an audiobahn a8002t, or A18001dt amp. But after talking to some friends I heard that audiobahn amps tend to blow often. And my one buddy is selling his Infinity 611a amp for $150 to me because he has no use for it. And I was wondering how that amp would match up with my subs.Because I am also lookin at it money wise to so I want to hear other peoples thoughts. So I was wondering about other peoples thoughts about audiobahn amps and wich audiobahn amp I should get, and how the infinity 611a amp would match up with my 2 10" audiobahn aw102n subs.And would either the infinity, or 1 of the audiobahn amps be best for my 2 subs. First, when your deciding what speakers match what amp forget about the peak power handling. The RMS power is what you want to focus on. You can think of it as true power handling. So you bought 2 subs each with an RMS power of 450w. All you do is add each RMS value together to get a total of 900w. So now you know you need an amp that can push approximatley 900w rms. To get the best money/ watt ratio, I would suggest buying a mono amp that is stable to 2ohms. All that means is that the amp is a single channel amp that has a rating such as 1 X (x)watts RMS @ 2ohms. Now the (x) your looking for should be around 900w. You also need to parallel wire your 2 subs to obtain the 2 ohms. If you have questions about the wiring, check out the website below. http://www.carstereo.com/help/sp_wiring.cfm I really don't have enough experience to tell which amp is better than which other amp, so maybe someone else can help you with that. I've personally only used kicker amps. They have always been solid for me. |
