Im running a 2000w nitro straight off the battery. My lights do dim when i turn it up, ne wayz do I need a capacitor because when I turn the volume up like on a hard-hitting song its like the amp is trying to draw too much power from the battery and the battery can't supply it. It will hit like half way through each thump and keep on doing that.

yeah man i just learned a whole lot i didnt know. So even though im not getting a full 2000w, im still pulling a lot from the battery. Would it be better to get a bigger alternator or a just a capacitor?

a bigger alt. caps really are usless because they put out power for such a short fraction of a second the bass note is usually longer then that anyway. a kinetik hc 600 or 800 is the way to go if you need one.

but HO alt first. its expencive but the most importaint part of the system.

depening on how bad your voltage drop is you might just want to do the "big 3"(search)

my lights dim and i have a HO alt i only get .5v drop(at most) but its enough to noticably make my lights dim if its dipping down to 12.5v or lower alot then that is bad.
