Box Problems

All I can get is 56 square inches of port area. Think it will be alright? |

Email Post Number: 2628 Registered: Nov-05 | the only problem is i don't have money to be throwing around right now.. beginning of the year so i have to re-budget everything because my bills are falling on different days plus with added health insurance my checks are smaller. i basically make enough to cover the bills, food and gas.. at least for the rest of this month and probably the beginning of the next but sadly enough i might just have to try it because i really see no other way |

Email Post Number: 2632 Registered: Nov-05 | if the box is 17inch high.. after wood thickness there would not even be enough room for a port on the bottom.. i might have a way to squeeze a 6 inch wide port in that box to make for 84 square inches.. how bad do you think the port noise would be wit hthe current choice of a 4 inch wide port .. and how bad would it affect SPL |

Silver Member Username: Bump05We Stay Fly, 18 SX USA Post Number: 737 Registered: Aug-06 | i think it would be ok but think about this.. u do a 43hz tuning ur looking at 20 inches wide using bottom as a wall, making it like 8 iches high and aprox 10-12inches long might be wrong but that will give u plenty of room for 160sqinches or port.. |

Email Post Number: 2636 Registered: Nov-05 | two 6" aeros would be less port area.. and as I stated before. there is no chance to do a port on the bottom of the box. MAX EXTERNAL DIMENSIONS as posted above .. 17x39x24 if the box can only be 17" high and the sub takes 15.5" of that.. your left with 1.5" .. even if you wanted to build a port that slid in there on the bottom the two walls of the port would equal 1.5" thus leaving you 0 for the port  ... screw it though. lol. i don't know why i ask about enclosures .. im just going to build something and make it work |

Email Post Number: 2649 Registered: Nov-05 | ... im talking about surface area on the baffle the front baffle is 17x39.. 39inches wide minus 15.5inches for the subs width.. after the two that leaves only 8inches of usable surface area.. ... in the middle of the two subs there is only .75inch on top of the sub and on the bottom of the sub.. this is why i said there is no room |
