Help with the Orion 2500D

Is the Orion 2500D a good sub amp? I see so many up for sell. I'm thinking of buying one but i want somthing i will be happy with. Anyone have a comment on the amp.

Hell yeah they are. But you are going to need a HO alt if you get that amp so know what you are getting into before you take the leap.

What about the JL audio 1000/1 mono amp,would i still need a bigger alt? Which one is better of the two amps?

orion 2500 is a very solid and reliable amp. i have 2 in my ride and never a problem (knock on wood).

i was running a single jl 1000/1 off my stock 105a alt and it was okay. i would still upgrade to a bigger one though.

the orion 2500 definately needs a ho alt upgrade.

also i believe the orion hcca-d5000 is a upgraded version of the orion 2500d.

I have an hcca-d5000 and am very happy with it. I am running my stock alt (137 amps) and a stinger SP800 batt in the back and it doesnt kill my voltage badly. Its also up for sale if interested, only because im downgrading my system.
