Hello guys,

I have a special project, i would like to build a subwoofer for home (yeah i know wrong section) by using car subwoofer because there is more choice regarding my needs.

I need to get a flat response (if possible) from 20hz to 50hz. I have about 25 cu.ft net volume space available in the room, so i was thinking about 2 drivers (15's or 18's) that can produce very low and clean bass.

I was looking at Aurasound 18", Adire audio Tumult, and maybe 13W7 JL audio .. just to name a few.

This is NOT for home theater (only music) and NOT for superloud SPL, so i need sound quality and flat curve response. Ported or sealed box, depends... (i don't believe a sealed box will give me a flat curve from 20hz.. but the door is open for ideas)

Thanks in advance.

How much are you looking to drop for this set??

I just did 2 enclosure's for some TC 15's w/ PR's and from what the customer has told me, they get nice and low with herds of output.

Best thing about PR's is you can adjust the mount of mass on them to tune in the bass response your looking for.

Here's pic's of what I built for him:

Actually it's not a "money is no object" but very close.

The rest of the sound system is very high-end and the subwoofers must match in quality.

We will probably use 4x 10W7's or Audio Technology 10's from about 40hz up to 160hz and we need some infrabass to get the very most of the first octaves.

the 18" OEM version Aurasound gives us a -2db at 20hz point in a 12cu.ft. ported box. I was actually wondering if a 0db @ 20hz is possible without getting a +3db bump or so in the 30hz point ? With any drivers out there..

Of course i can later adjust the sub using some EQ, but i prefer not...

thanks for help bytheway :-)

you cant anymore because the company stopped making them. Your best bet would be to look on other forums for ones for sale. For HT they are Top notch!!!! They hit amazingly low and with exact precision up to 60hz.
