I was planning on buying some Ascendant Audio 6.5 midwoofers and some tweeters to have an active front stage. Right now I already have a Premier P880PRS Head unit and a Zapco Ref. 360.4 amplifer. Would this be a good idea or should I just buy a component set?

Great idea. I just ordered my AA pair this week. Here is a pretty good review Dang did: http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4814

They came out shining, and that's not even with the price taken into consideration.

Oh and by the way would I really need to buy an extra crossover? Can't I use the crossover in the head unit and the amplifier?

I think it does because the manual says it has a switch to use it as a 3 way network. And in the manual it says that when this switch is activated i have control over the highs, mids, and lows.

yeah i read over it and i think it should work.

now i need some tweeters that will work with this setup. I was looking at these: http://www.madisound.com/cgi-bin/index.cgi?exact_match=yes&product=SEA&cart_id=3 93216.12042

The only problem I see is that the each midwoofer and each tweeter will only see 50 watts rms assuming that the tweeters are 4 ohm. what would you all suggest and thank you for all your help.

those seas should be nice, also check out the peerless. partsexpress.com and look at the vifa tweets aswell.

50rms for the speakers isnt to much but iv heard they are pretty efficiant so i think youll be alright. or maybe go with the daytons off partsexpress.com

Alright thank you.

What about CDT tweeters? Does anyone have any experience with them? How would they compare to any tweeters mentioned above?
