The W7 embodies JL Audio's commitment to pushing the envelope of speaker technology, with six patented technologies and a completely unique set of component parts. Each W7 model has been meticulously engineered to reproduce sub-bass with extreme fidelity at any volume level

yea and DD blows jl outta the water in all aspects
just b/c JL has a nice long paragraph on thier sub about patented technology doesnt mean jack
sure dont get me wrong the jl 1000/1 is a killer amp being able to put out 1000 watts as low as 10V but its not worth it wen u can buy an even bigger am for the price
also my personal expierence W7 are very overrated ur just buying a brand thts why its over priced i would take treo atomic dd fi AA over JL anyday and im sure everyone or most feel tht way on here
jl=$$=not worth it
dd=$= lil expensive but worth it=SPL

and because it moves that air so much it not only requires a one inch baffle made of only mdf but also 12 1 1/2 inch screws or it will blow out of the box. i dont see the other subs twith this feature.most others only have eight, treo, dd, atomic, etc. and dont require a larger baffle. they also require that you build a huge box which some dont have room for as the jl makes great use of a small box. the port is tuned loweralso, all those subs have an extremely high frequency level because they cant get loud at the low frequencies as good as they can with the high.

but if you wanted to swich subs the jl amp puts out that wattage at a variety of voltages a and ohm loads. 10.5v-15.5v also 1.5ohm-4ohm it will always produce the watts as other amps need specific volts and ohms to produce what they claim

if you like the w7 so much then get one. they arnt bad but they definatly arnt DD.

and an amp like the 1000\1 with a regualted power supply is not a good thing when doing comps generally because you will not really see the bennift of having a good chargning system

"and because it moves that air so much it not only requires a one inch baffle made of only mdf but also 12 1 1/2 inch screws or it will blow out of the box"
you really are clueless
u think JL is soooooo effiecient
my god ur in a dream land my friend the efficiency of ur 13W7 is 86.7db
which is pathetic in comparison to many subs
the DD 9515 has an efficiency of 93dbs..
and let me laugh out loud one more time
AHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA
1" thick baffle damn u must have researched only JL
"itll blow the box apart"
hahahah
even more laughs if it blows the box appart it is poorly constructed
u think tht only jl requires a 1" baffle?
thts the impression im gettin
the treo ssx and the dd 9500 can handle way more power then the W7 and for these extreme applications ppl have to resin the inside and also add double layer of MDF alllll around not just on the baffle
also PPL dog the W7 no im not dogging it im tryin to show u thier not worth i dont care if u do have the money tht sub is great yea but SEVERLY over priced...
do us a favor research both side b4 u make stupid posts about subs u dont no about
also just b/c u have the sub doesnt mean sh*t
idk did u do ur whole installation??
did u build ur box???
or sumone else built it for u??
do u no even how to install a system correctly???
if so good job
if not read this site www.BCAE1.com or www.wickedcases.com
this is where everyone started either way very informative sites
please research idk if this comes off insulting or not i really dont care...either way u needto read

efficiency has nothing to do with the subs output ability. * Sensitivity is not an accurate method of determing a subwoofer's output capability and should not be used for comparison* this is a quote below the ssx series treo sub

Sounds like you already have your mind made up, so just buy more W7s. I personally don't believe you have a W7 or are considering DDs with the way you copy and paste your knowledge. Research some stuff that's not direct advertising from teh company trying to sell you something. I could be wrong, but I think their opinion is a little biased.

4 18's would have about the same surface area as the 12 jl's lol and ported over sealed there would be no comparison and that is to only 4 dd's over 12 jl's. The thing is you can give the 4 dd's the same power you can give the 12 jl's. DD would stomp on them. I am not downing JL I like their products but more their w6's but the w7's do get loud ofr the 1000 watts they are capable of handling.

me also would like to know how he is financing, cause he needs something like a competitor / dealer deal for that sh!t!!!

we had 12 12s in our shop, van, everyone seen it tought it was loud.. LMAO cause on the meter it did 51 on music!

Not bad, but not loud either... 4 18s setup can easily do 50s playing music... Meade for example hits a 153 on music!!

12 jl 13w7 = 624lbs (just the subs alone without the box)

box = 200lbs.

i say you will need around 6 batteries. around 70lbs each battery (you would get some good batteries) so it would total around 400lbs.

amps = 200lbs.

you are looking at roughly 1400-1500lbs extra in your car. that thing is going to be heavy.

i just felt like calculating the weight.

Well if he's budgetless get 4 9918z quad 1ohm, 16 DDZ2s, go ahead an replace all ur windows. Add 2-3 300a alts, a sh!tload of kinetik batteries, and then figure in all the wires. Then enter some competitions.
