im thinkin about buyin this prefab'd box http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-CAR-DUAL-15-VENTED-PAINTED-ENCLOSURE-SUB-BOX-U_W0QQitemZ 140055086897QQihZ004QQcategoryZ50567QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

and if i lay it on its side i would only have 10 inches between the sub and the end of my cargo area, since i would have more room between the sub and the roof of my rover if i layed the box and subs facing the roof, and the subwoofer wavelengths were longer would that yield better SQ and SPL?

Try it both ways, it's easy to move a box

idk, in an expedition i found that if you point the subs with the rear window so the sound kind curves with the roof its loudest, but yeah try it till you like it

yeah see where it likes to resonate off of best. mess around with it.

subs up and ports rear is very common and seems to work good too. i like troy's idea.
