I have a box that is 38.5" X 14.5 X 15. I am going to to put 2 kicker c12's in it. These are home cabinets that I am changing the mtx woofers out with some c12's to get a little bit more low freq. extension for a home setup (not going in a car). I have two cabinets 2 subs per cabinet. The kicker website says that a single sub should be 2.75 cf tuned to 32hz. I was wondering if I do two 4" ports how long should they be? And also with the box being bigger than the kicker specs will it still work. I can put a divider in each box to cut down the cf, but I don't want to start cutting the boxes apart if I don't have to. Thanks in advance.

Yeah, I bought some 4" flared ports from partsexpress.com I just don't know how long to make them. I have tried to use the calculators, but I just want to make sure its right before I go and start gutting the boxes.

The kicker specs say 32, but should I tune it lower since it is for a home setup? Also, do you think that box is to big? Do you think the subs will sound "empty" or bottom out?

Cool, I really appreciate the help!! I just want to make sure that both flared are supposed to be 15.71 or do I cut it in half and do both 7.5? Sorry, for all of the questions. Just starting out at this stuff.

I mean since I'm using two 4" ports do they both have to be 15 or do they have to be 7.5?

no..its calculated at 3.7 cubic feet tuned to 32hz
15.71 is the length for both so both flares will be 15.71 long :-)
