Battery Questions

I have a yellow top but im currently using my stock battery under my hood. the yellow top is simply chillin in my garage. I was wondering what if any advantages would i get by using the yellow top, is it possible to run the yellow top with my stock? I just have general questions - also would yellow even be my best bet - i run my system with the car on only obviously.

And I think that it is recommended that if you were to have a battery in the car or SUV, that it would be better to use a dry cell...someone correct me if I'm wrong.
