I just bought a 15" kicker l7...yea i know yall dont like um but owell...what size box should i build and what should i do with the port. i have a 99 ford explorer so space isn't a problem.

Fire the sub up or back and have the port facing the back. Make a box 5-6cu ft and tune it to 32-35 hz

Yea, sub up port back...I would make it tuned to 40hz.

what dimensions for the port do yall recommend for a 5 cu. ft box....i haven't figured out how to calculate the port for tuning yet. can anyone help me with that

if it was me i would tune it to 27hz i just wanna blow ur head off with lows though

27 hz is too far below tuning for the sub. those L series subs are meant for 32 +

its never to far its your preference.. i had my l7;s at 27 and it was deep and low but i wuld reccoment 35 cause i had a box at 35 and it sounded good

the guy that builds them for a company in TN is there specs..
With larger air volume the KPL Series are built to L7, L5 recommendations between Street Bass and SPL specs. Dual sub versions individually chambered

its your preference, but you cant just get a sub and throw it in whatever tuned box you want. thats why companeies have recommended tunings for their subs, and 27 hz for a L7 of oucrse it wouldnt hurt the sub, but they are not made to play that low of tuning. tune them to 32 + because thats what they call for. thats just what i do

when i heard a 15 l7 in a sealed box, it flopped around like crazy and sounded like shizat. but maybe thats just because its the l7

yeah true but a lot of people also dont tune it too desiried tuning by the company.... tuning= sound you want coming out... i understand subs are meant for there recomended tuning...good point. but also still can different sounds..i was just throwing it out there cause i heard it but like i said 35hz was better :-)

screws are all hid painted black texture with some metallic silver graphics looks sweet...
