ok i know i have asked this a million times but what is a good battery for a 2500w rms system?? i have a 200 amp alt and i need a good battery. i only want one up under the hood so would a optima deep cycle be good or a red top, yellow top?? what would be my best bet. and under 250$$ would be amazing.

get a kinetik, there the best ones. a little pricey though. check with renegadesrun, he's on here every so often, should be able to get you a deal.

With that many watts in your amp no battery will keep the lights from dimming. The H/O alternator wont help much either. You really need another battery.

I add another battery when my RMS gets to 1500 watts, everytime I dont I get complaints like crazy.

yeah i think they reccomend more then you neeed.

but that kicker amp is a beast.

so id see if you can fit a 1400 under your hood and stick otherone in the back or a bigger one like 2000 or 2400

Think about an Isolator, or a battery manager. The battery manager will let you switch the batteries from your dash with a switch.
