I have a 15 sx. i plan on sealing off the trunk in my alero, and facing the sub in.

Due to space constraints, i have to do one or the other. Do you think it will be better to do ~3.5 cuft with about 70 sq. in. of port area, or ~ 4 cuft with 50 sq. in. of port area?

Im going for spl here. It is gunna be an interchangealbe slot ported box, so i am also gunna be cutting the port for the resonant frequency.

Thanks.

Not sure if Im the one in question for the post... but I am a Scott and I have an opinion on this one(take it for what its worth...lol)
Id run 4 cuft with 50 sqin of port. While you do gain with larger port area, you arent talking night and day between 50 and 70 sqin (and at 4 cuft it is still within what I would recommend at 12-16sqin per cuft of enclosure)
With 4 cuft and a 33Hz tuning itll push your enclosure peak down about 3 Hz and gain you about .5 dB over the other. Simply round over the inner and outer edges of the port... and youll be good to go.

Thanks...
