BTL enclosure built (pics)

It's meant for the 12" BTL but I don't have an amp to power it yet, so in the meantime, I'm just substituting a RE HC 12". Two different worlds but yea, it's just temporary. The enclosure is fiberglassed at the bottom to fit the mold of the tire well and it was supposed to be 30-40sqin of port area but I ended up getting this instead =(. I'm still talking to the builder on his reasoning for this setup instead. Anyways, here are the pics. I have side by side comparisons of the RE HC and the BTL. I'm saving up $$ for a class D amp to power the BTL. Til then this is what I have. The small port still bothers me. Sounds pretty good at low volumes right now but when I crank it up, it sounds a bit funky on some songs. I'm not sure what the reasoning would be for that. I'm running the Re Hc with a Fosgate P800.2. So a little more than 800rms to it, and my theory for the low output is that maybe the fiberglass isn't completely dry or the small port is restricting the full output. |
