I got a ford probe and am powering a 12w6v2 off a e1400d amp and trying to upgrade to a 500/1 but hits Hard!! especialy in a ported box. I use the sealed for daily driving but put the ported in to shut everyone up, or almost everone.I spent $480 at the dealer for it with the 1yr for the sub and 2yr. warranty for the amp. but my friend has a older mtx in a huge band bass box. It defintely hits the db but doesn't hit as hard as the JL but then again there is a price difference. however my brother has a 12" pioneer 3.5" deep(low depth) sub in his 89 toyota pickup powerd by a e1200 amp he got off ebay for $75. and for the no room he has in the back it hits pretty good.

According to my audio dealer Polk audio is highly rated. and I've heard there stuff and its defintely up there. there rated above sony and pioneer for entry level. you might want to check out there web site. http://www.polkaudio.com/caraudio/index.php

they had there competition SR124-DVC on ebay and it went for around $200 so you might want to check that out. sopposibly two of em' hit around 141db

Dont buy that kicker sub lol. Do this...

Amp - http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=3788

and 2 of these...
Subs - http://www.ascendantaudio.com/assassin12specs.html

That will leave you with some extra cash.

oooooh, AJ I forgot about very Good UK's brand . Its Vibe . (Not Lanzer) ..

search on them @ this site u got . caraudiosecurity.com

And AA sub's which Andrew gave u them link are Good . And have a good SQ .

Or Try DD ..

And By the way , Stay away from kenwood , There are much better brands , kenwood is not that Good .

L7 is a good SPL sub . Its very loud . But not much SQ ..

What do u want very loud or sound quality ..?

The best kind of battery would be an optima battery because its a deep cycle. plus you can mount it anyware and even upside down!!!

Viewing from his previous qoute "Kyle Lorenzi Thxs for link but 141db isnt for me i know saxos windows Shatter at 165db Lol im gust looking for a good amp and sub for good sound i am not into waking the street up like my friends..." I'd say hes looking for sound quality. JL is Pretty good far as sound quality goes. along with polk I Know that you don't want the loud but there are other cheaper models. boston acoustics are good to. don't know much about jbl subs but if its anything like there home audio that should be good to.

I personaly love my JL I'm not saying that it don't go loud It just depends on what you buy The 12w6v2 retails for $500 but I got mine for $250 usauly you can get one off ebay for around that. I've put it in several different boxes and love the sealed for the music I listen(rock, metal) but if you listen to more of R&B, rap, dance and so on the ported is awsome, I turned it up all the way and it rattled my car so bad that now the panels always make noises while driving. My sub for daily use hits great and when I want I crank it up and it pounds at 120db its no joke just about anything can hit the db's but hitting the db's hard thats different and thats where sound quality takes it stand.you would realy have to own one to appreciate it. read more about it here

http://www.caraudiomag.com/testreports/0403cae_jlaudio_12w6v2_car_audio_subwoofe r/

another thing you say that you want 600watt but that doesn't mean anything it all depends on the sensitivy of the sub. use this equation to find the db. aprox. sensitivy+10log(rms watts) and that should give you an estemate. but if you want sound quality and db's,SPL then the 12w6v2 will take you there.

engine noise is usualy made from the altenator but if you get a farad capacitor like stinger thats a good brand it should filter the noise out but if you go into the retailer there rather exspensive-$150 so I would take your chance on ebay thats what I did. I haven't got it yet but my dad has been taking electronics for 2 years now and told me that should get rid of it I'll have more info on weather or not it works when I get it. from my point of veiw you should get a deep cycle battery I had to and I was only using 500watts. they last longer and charge faster. if you want to use it for your main battery get a red top optima because the yellow and blue top won't start your car. I own one and it works fantastic also the farad capacitor will take the load off your altenator, battery, and stop the diming lights. amps I would recomend would be: JL 500/1, JBL GTO601.1II, MTX Audio TA4501, Phoenix Gold R8.0:1, JL e1400d. thats if you want a 12w6v2.

if you want the power I garentee that the JBL will pound hard. JBL and JL audio are the same company incase you didn't know that. they are brothers I think their names are Jerald b. lanzing or something like that but they decieded to go in to different directions I guess.

I don't get the back joke. but I spent 4 months working on my car and tryied to spend as little as possible the body kit and tires were a gift from my dad the rims I picked up at the wrecking yard for $100 and I had them sand blasted and powder coated black for $160. so Im rollin' on $260 rims. my dad is friends with the owner of the napa store so we got the burnt orange paint for $260 and all the supplies to paint it for $90 so I got a $350 paint job. My dad owns an auto repair shop so I get parts for wholesale and labor for free. I'm getting an alarm at the audio store for 200 bucks installed. and spent around $1700 on the audio, JL; 500/1,300/4,xr570-cxi rear,xr650csi front, pioneer premier 480mp-nothin fancy just to play my mp3's

I actualy brought the ride hight up on mine with stock rims I scraped every day on the speed bumbs to my house and I was goin' slow so when I added the body kit it lowerd it another 3inches or so. so I had to bring it up otherwise the body kit would be pointless
