I got a Phoenix Digital 1000W 2-ohm 2-channel amp and a Kicker 06S12L7 12" Sub. Im planning on getting a new amp because my current amp is always overheating. All the wiring is correct and everything, so i think that its just the amp. I need to know whats a good amp for an L7.

first off, if that is a dual 4 ohm sub and that is a 2 channel amp it is only stable 2ohm stereo, if you have it bridged it is overheating and will burn it out.if dual 4 need 2 ohm stable amp, like zx-1000 if daul 2 then 1 ohm stable amp.

start at the best, then see what you can afford that compares.
Memphis is dirt cheap.
JL are mid priced.
zapco can be found fairly cheap, comparitivly speaking. @ 2X the memphis.
