Ok i have a 1999 nissan altima and I was going to put a new system together bc my old one failed, I know just about nothing about ohms or crossovers or anything.
I am going to be hooking up 2 12" Cerwin Vega V MAX Subwoofers, 2400 Watt Subs Dual Voice Coil 2 Ohm DVC Audio and now I need a good amp to power those subs that isnt over 250$
PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!! and only help if u now what ur talking about bc i want my subs to rock Thanks
mono is the norm for subs, and getting dvc 2 or 4ohm subs only matter when it comes to amp selection. so if you find an amp that puts out the power you need at 1ohm, get dvc 4ohm subs. the power you need at 2ohm, get dvc 2ohm subs. but know it costs more for an amp that'll put out 1200wrms at 2ohm than one that puts out the same power at 1ohm.
when you look at a sub to buy it'll say 'impedence' as in dvc 4ohm, dvc 2ohm, svc 4ohm, etc. but since you said earlier your subs are 2ohm dvc, that amp would work. and no that power wont blow them, your subs are rated at 600wrms each and that amp is rated at 1114wrms at 2ohm, so each sub would see half the total. the amp is a little underrated so you'll probably see more to each sub, but again unless your charging system is able to produce a constant 14.4v then you wont see the full power of it ( ie if it's 1400wrms at 14.4v, and you can only provide 12v you'll see about 1200wrms-not exact numbers but you get the point).
welll how big is ur alt? if u dont know what kinda vehicle do u have? cuz 1200 rms would be the max i would go with an alt upgrade, truthfully i would get an alt upgrade running anything over 1000rms
