my friends dont know much about car audio so i am installing there system and was looking at running two type rs off a a8000t, which is a pretty good match i think, but i was recently talkign to them and they dont want to spend more than 300.00, and the lowest price i can find on this combo is like 380.00 shipped new. so i was thinking about doing 1 type r and a 8000t, would the type r handle the 800rms that the a8000t would run? i know i could do 4 ohms at 400rms, but 800rms would be much louder i believe, they are looking for only spl.
do the make 4 ohm dvc type r?
or only 2 ohm dvc, cuz i dont think a8000t is stable at 1 ohm....

Tell him to save up for the extra $80. The Type-R will eat the 800rms and ask for more! Rovin gives his Type-R's 1krms im pretty sure......

No I sold my Type R's last year wanted to go SPL. I had the older model ones so I didnt want to give them 1k rms daily @ 1 ohm.

Snopro, If you're getting one type R with an audiobahn a8000V the sub will hold it, the amp puts like 600-700w rms.

yes i did sell my Rs about 3wks ago after a guy kept bugging me 4 them -lol

well i had my 2 Rs on a power acoustik A2100D which was 'rated to do 2100wrms @ 1ohm' i'm guessing it put out around 1300-1400wrms roughly

i think u can probably get away with "800wrms" off that abahn amp by playing it safe & turning the gain down a bit ........

Rovin did you check PA's new line? looks good and maybe they're accurately rated... but their quality might not be top notch or as good as we desire

Ty he only owns one hehe...

Kris, if you wire those subs to a 4 ohm load they will hold it, but if you wire them to 2 or 1 ohm you might blow them

Snopro another thing, if they want SPL, why are they getting a type R? i think a CVR can be louder.... But all depends on the box

hey juliob wat is better 4 ohms 2 ohms or 1 ohms...like saying would it be better to run the 3000 at 4 ohms or look for an amp to run at 1 ohms

dampening factor is going to be better if you run it at 4 ohms and the THD should be lower but you won't notice the difference.

Your amp might run cooler but if you're getting the PA a3000DB 4 ohms should be the way to wire those subs, to avoid blowing them
