(made this thread earlier now its gone)

Ok friday I will have 2 Exile 2400.1 (strapped to get 5k rms)Should I take the premier subs (1k rms 3k max) as I have 2 allready and use 4 12" subs, OR should I get 2 15" subs (that can handle 2k rms each).....

I like the 1st option as I can take my subs outs my Saturn and use them in my Escort, and have my Escort SPL, and my Saturn SQL (Loud is good)

So if one option better than the other? give me some opinions!

thanks

well, those amps can only be use strapped at a 2 ohm load, so if you have dual 4 ohm subs, you can not strap them , you would need the 2 ohm version of the sub. asumming t you have the spl3000 series sub

Yeah, the are the subs dual 2ohm versions....and the exiles can be burped @ .5 om strapped if this changes anything (friend runs 2 12" treo subs and burps at .5 once in a while for that extra boost)

You can check out my stereo in the bragging area.
I run all Helix (besides subs) in my Saturn, Dark blue 1000.2 powers the Premier SPL3000 running each channel @ a 1ohm load to get 1000x2. And the Dark Blue 4 channel runs my Helix Advatgarde 636 speakers so shes pretty bangin (145.9db USACI)200a alt from Nate @ excessive.

I guess what I really want to know is would 4 12" subs be as loud or louder than 2 15" subs? being in a hatch back and all too.......

thanks

Personally I would get two 15's. but thats just my opinion. You should know that 4 12's should be louder than 2 15's. But then again, its all about the installation, which I'm sure you would have no problem with. But why I say get 2 15's. So you can experiment with different subs rather than keep the same pioneer brand. I would going to add another two typr R's but wanted something different so I got two AQ's. Well w/e you do, have fun.

Diddnt bump before

I may just go with 4 12"s as I want to be easliy above 150db ( I hit 145.9db with 2 12" off 2k in a trunk).
Box is going to be huge (takeing out back seat) and 5krms should be nice (300a alt when I get the money). Also having 4 12" subs will allow me to get some decent SQ subs for my Saturn.....I think I will take this route.

thanks!
