I have a 1988 Mercury Cougar, and I'm going to put in two 15" subwoofers, but I can't decide what to get. I'm thinking JL speakers, but can someone recommend something a little more upper-end?
I like Eclipse, personally. I own 2 Eclipse 88150.4's and they pound like crazy and they retain excellent sound quality. But the newer models in a 15" will run you about 400 each retail, if not more. Might be cheaper, if you can ever get one on ebay.. but you hardly ever see a set of 15" Eclipse subs on ebay anymore.
There are alot of other great brands out there, as well.. it all depends...
What do you want to do with them? Compete in sound offs, or have a nice loud system with a nice amount of sound quality? or do you just want to have a nice set of subs to fill in the low end of your audio system?
