I have 2 6x9's that are 100 watts rms. I Cant afford an amp right now so they are powererd directly by my head unit (22w rms 50 peak) Will this damage the speakers or headunit? What negative effects does under powering the speakers have Thanks
nah no damage. as long as they aren't driven into the distortion range of the head unit, no damage. only downside is less volume. that's all maybe weaker bass response, but they are jsut 6x9" after all, not really subs. you'll only get so much bass either way.
