Is there anything made that makes it harder or impossible for a thief to steal your amp?

another thing is to hide it well... try screwing it on a solid place, for example i screw it on a metalic place... is hard to take it out.

You need to worry more about your box and HU which are always easier to steal... Yeah a box is heavy but you can always find it and if you cut some cables then you're done.

Backstrap the headunit, stick a chain on your box, bolt it to the chassis (make sure you silicon around the bolt INSIDE the box if you do it), and use a mix of square-tipped and hex tipped screws to mount your amp..

Yeah micks got some good tips.... I was wondering is there anyway i could set a trap in my trunk. Like for instance if its opened, a shooting harpoon would pierce through your heart. Think thats illegal?? lol

my box is way too heavy to take out, it was a sick pain in the azz to put the box in without the subs in it, i had to do it in the trunk. And the actual subs are so snug in the box that you have to pry it out after you take the screws out. The amp im going to use the screw things you guys said. And for the head unit im not so sure yet, im up for some suggestions with that. Thanks a lot guys

yeah.. lol, I've had my share of items stolen from me.

I suggest backstrapping your head unit, it's not hard to do, just time consuming...

howcome some head units allow you to take off the front part as a security agaisnt thieft.. Cant someone still take the actual system thats in the harness? And if someone does steal that and all you have left is the faceplate that you took off could you jus buy the system?

the system is what costs the most anyway so you would just be paying for a brand new head unit anyway
