i want to put 4 12's in my explorer but i would like the box facing to the rear door.....does it have to be sealed or???is there a difference with wood n fiberglass???

wouldn't "have" to be sealed, could be ported. just depends on design and space limitations...but in an explorer, you should be good with space.

wood is wood, simple cuts, glue and screws. easiest way to make a box is to use wood. just make sure you do not use particle board or ply wood. use MDF or a hard wood.

fiberglass is more involved, requireing you to use a skeleton frams, base material and many layers of glass and resin. sanding and filling just like body work from there. cover in just about anything you want. you are more free to have shape and curves in your designs with fiberglass though.

price wise if you do it yourself, either way wouldn't be that much, fiberglass prob being a little more. BUT if you pay someone to do one for you, fiberglass will cost WAY more!!
