Speakers crackle

The speakers played fine before but now all of a sudden when you get to a certain volume they crackle BAD, And the volume isnt even that high. I checked the wireing behind each speaker and all is fine, could it be a wire on the HU maybe?

Maybe you blew the speakers?

Open up the grill and you'll probably find that the cones are cracked.
That happens when you feed too much power or lot of dirty/clipped signal.

My speakers get occasional crackle as well now ever since i played test some test tones... i should of unplugged my rcas from my mids\highs when doing that?

Does anybody else notice a crackle when a cd is really scratched, it doesn't skip...just crackle
