I was just wondering if anybody with more experience in car audio than me could tell me if an MA Audio amp rated at 800 watts RMS @ 2 ohms will actually put out that much power. Would I be better off to go with an Audiobahn A8000T or A8000V instead?

Oh yea, before anybody says anything, I know that MA and Audiobahn are both pretty low end brands, but I'm in college, so my budget is tight. I'd rather get the MA amp because it's cheaper, but if it'd be worth the extra $30 or so, I'll buy an Audiobahn.

MA Audio amos are rated for thier max power at around 17 volts. If your on a budget I doubt you can afford to get 17 volts to that amp.

^^^^ but what's your budget... cuz you can get a8000t or V for 600-800w rms at 2 ohms or PA a1000db for 800w rms-1000w rms at 2/1 ohm.

Daniel is right... they're rated at 17 volts and in some cases at 14.4... so is hard for them to put their RMS ratings

17 volts? That's rediculous. Thanks. My budget is pretty low, I'd like to spend no more than $160 on my amp.

I only really need 600 watts RMS, cuz my subs are 2 Ohm DVC and 300 watts RMS apiece. I just figured it'd sound better to have an 800 watt amp with the gain turned down then an amp that can only make 600 watts RMS.

if you add like 10-20$ get PA a1000db cuz the amp can hold 1 ohm load to achieve 900-1000w rms and puts 800w rms at 2 ohms.

The audiobahn is another good call too.

I've got a 1990 something PA amp right now and that thing can take a beating. I have it hooked up to one of my Type S's cuz thats all it can power, and it underpowers it by 120 watts RMS but it still pounds. I'll definately keep that PA amp in mind.

Thanks for the help guys, good thing I didn't waste my money on the MA bullsh!t.
