NEED HELP HOOKING UP MY MTX 15' 8500'S

New member Username: Avirex64Post Number: 1 Registered: Sep-06 | I got 2 mtx dual 4 voice coil 15 inch 8500 subs and got a hifonics BXI1606D mono block amp 1100 watts rms at 2ohms. My friend told me I should hook the subs up parallel using this amp because the subs rms is 1200 watts when ran together. Is that correct? I dont really know to much about amps. If anyone knows what i should do please let me know |

Silver Member Username: Andysd03Post Number: 418 Registered: Jan-06 | your amp is only 2 ohm stable and u got 2 dual 4 ohms which equals 1 ohm in parallel your gona have to hook them up in series or your amp is gona have problems!!! you should of goten 2 dual 2 ohms subs and have had them hooked up in series which would equal 2 ohms perfect match for your amp you are rather gona need to switch your subs or get a 1 ohm stable mono amo 1500wattrms the orion2500d shoould be perfect match or that one mtx amplifer that does 1500wattrms at 1 ohm will work dont listen to your friend hes wrong |
