I have a pioneer premier 780mp and I'm wondering what does the subwoofer eq setting for slope mean ? It has a setting of -18 , -12, -6.

that sounds like the crossover slope to me, not a level boost. if so, thats how quickly the sound will drop off after the crossover frequency. 18 being the steepest, 6 being the most gradual. for subs you want it to be steep usually, so i'd go with 18.
