Removing capcitor

can somebody tell me if i need to do anything before i remove my cap because ive never done it and dont know if its still got a charge in it or something?

It does still have a charge but it will not hrt you unless you short it out. Just removed it and place it somewhere safe. Use a 12V bulb in between the terminals to discharge safely. Polo. :-)

Pull the main system fuse first, then use a test light to discharge it, then move it.

just don't touch the + & - and take it out.

bob's way is the safe way to do it but i never had problems doing it my way.

ya i go with the chad way lol just pull it out and dont cross the wires or anything like that u will get a shock if u get it to discharge on you tht will drop you on your a## hard

Heh, it wont necessarily shock you, as much as take a huge chunk out of the metal where it shorts, and possibly start leaking. (Unless you're the one that bridges the terminals with your body somehow.. But you shouldnt be too awfully conductive unless you're wet, etc.)
