I would say quite possible, if your using around a true 3000w amp or better on the solo x in the optimal vented enclosure.

do whatever you want... hehehe they're gonna get loud and the 15s might have more cone area but you can save some space by using 1 12. I do know that those solo X are just for comps cuz Damn! those sh1t only slam

Heh.. Figure, if they shared the same efficiency.. Giving a solo X double the power, of two L7's, of the same size - would be about the same in dB. (Because if you double the cone area, you gain 3 dB with the same amount of power. If you double the power, you also gain 3 dB).

So for it to get louder, not only would have to give well over double the power to the Solo X in order to compensate for OVER double the cone area of the pair of L7's. I'm not sure the efficiency of the subs, though. In reality, there are a lot of variables..

Another thing would be, the placement of the subs. You can place one sub much more easily in the 'optimal' posistion in your vehicle, whereas two subs, you might get close, but one sub is going to be slightly off the 'perfect' spot for placement.
