Is it common for crossovers for componets to be installed

I suppose if you're running the comps off the HU then that might be an ideal spot....you must have a lot of room behind your HU, huh? I could barely get an extra wire behind mine.

no they are being ran off of an amp. Shouldnt the crossovers be closer to the drivers and not behind the HU.

no not at all. unless they ran the wires for the components back behind the radio its not normal at all. crossovers are normally wired close to the speaker for one reason, less wire to run through the door jams. Its quite odd and i'd ask whoever did it why and have them show you how they went about doing it.

yeah, i actually mounted mine on my doors so i could adjust the tweeter level without having to take anything apart. works for me.
