Alpine Type-R's should be in that range.

I used to have the type R's and now have the D6's...the Diamonds will play much lower tones & are a lot cleaner...not to mention the 1.5" less depth needed to mount them...sorry but no comparison IMHO

kklage, I don't doubt that the D6's are better but right now the Type R's I have found are cheaper, and my budget is around 500$ for the subs and the amp. If you can find me a site with a better price than the Type R's I will gladly go with them. Thanks

You can also go with the D3's...they say they will handle 400rms...but I put 2 of them in my wife's Xterra and am running 550rms to them and they are handling it just fine.

You have any mounting depth restrictions?

Well the Type R's require 7" to mount them (unless you get the 2004 version which is only 6"

Or by tall do you mean the surround sticking out from the enclosure?
