Alright now going to be ordering my JL 10W6V2 tomorrow. I need some guidence on the build.

I guess first question is ported or sealed?

and if u didnt know sq= sound quality and spl= is pretty much loudness

a ported box is not nisicarilally not as good in sq in fact i think a ported box sounds better except for above 100hz

Best wood as i hear and as i use is 3/4" mdf....... predrill ur holes though so tha wood doesnt split.....

anyone got some tips that a newbie builder might find usefull?

put 1 5/8" deck screws ~5" apart, predrill, use glue on all joints, and caulk the inside.

gorrilla glue works great, but if you are not used to glue that expands while drying, you may use too much and it will seep out of the joints...you only need a thin layer of gorrilla glue. (read the box)

allow the caulk to dry before installing the subs.


and like everyone always says...measure twice, cut once.

Yea... lol.. piece the box together by building a 'rough' box by laying the pieces together to see how everything fits. There were times I flat out messed up, measured twice and everything was right, Turned out I just made the piece the wrong size on my plans Lol. Be patient and don't rush it.
