Is it possible to put an MT motor on an SX sub? Just curious cuz I can get a MT motor for $175

Interesting.. how much power with SX soft parts handle with an MT motor though? The SX does not have a triple spider so I'm wondering if fully powered the cone would tear from the spider? Or is the surround even capable of the extra excursion the MT motor would present? I'm tempted to get this MT motor and do it for shits and giggles but if something goes wrong I'm out of a sub.

i am not sure. but i doubt it is anything over 2000wRMS for an extended period of time.

the SX is rated at 1000wRMS.

the MT is rated much much higher. lol

i think the surround would rip or the dust cone would fall of before the coils would burn up from the increased motor force...but i could be wrong.

DO IT and get a vid!!!:-)
