New member Username: BassfiendPost Number: 1 Registered: Aug-06 | It's time for my first car system.. I finally have the $$$ for it (due to a job). I've been looking around and decided that I want a single Alpine 15" Type R Dual 2 Ohm sub... And now I'm looking for an amp... I was looking at the ALPINE MRD-M605 MONO 600W RMS AMPLIFIER but it says 600w rms @ 14.4v, which I think most cars don't run that? (i thought 12v) and 400w at 12v.. but the Type-R is 750w rms and I want to get between 600 & 700w rms with a mono block amp, not 400w b/s... so point me in the right direction... (im also up for different sub pointers.. spl is what i want) |

You can get a pair for $270 that will get crazy loud. Hook them up to a nice amp that puts out around 1000rms at 1 ohm and there you go. You could have everything you need for about $550 total. And it would sound great and get very loud. |

Silver Member Username: ShowridesHartford, CT USA Post Number: 266 Registered: Feb-06 | SPL is sound pressure level. It is just the increase in pressure in teh cabin when the subs hit. |
New member Username: BassfiendPost Number: 4 Registered: Aug-06 | where the hell is the price? it has the MSRP for $214 http://mdcaraudio.com/sidewinder15.html ^^ thats what i'm looking at |

Silver Member Username: ShowridesHartford, CT USA Post Number: 267 Registered: Feb-06 | That is just the company that makes the subs. You have to get them through a dealer. And they only have the 12's out right now. But if you are decided on a 15, then md wouldn't work out for you. |
New member Username: BassfiendPost Number: 6 Registered: Aug-06 | i'm looking at that sidewinder, and it's a 4 ohm, and it doesn't say it's a dual, it says: Voice Coil (Inch) 2 and even if it it a dual 4 ohm VC, it can only be wired to 2 ohms right? you need a dual 2 ohm VC for 1 ohm... wait maybe I have this wrong: Nominal Impedence (Ohm) D4 & Re (Ohm) 1.8 i am confused??? |
New member Username: BassfiendPost Number: 7 Registered: Aug-06 | I am looking for a (maybe 2) 15" subwoofer(s) that pound bass that I can hear as well as feel, and money isn't really a big issue... ($1000 for everything is probably my limit due to i still need $$$ for insurance and gas) |
