i have 2 15 inch kicker cvx subs wired to 1 ohm to a rf 2001bd amplifier in a ported box. but when i put my highs on and bass i smell a lil coil smell i think from the woofers. does anyone know what frequency the amp and e.q. should be and where i should set my gain at.
jsut m,ake sure that the subsare not distorting. Kicker subs usually have a smell to them for a few weeks when they are brand new from excess glue melting while they are being broken in. As long as you arn't overpowering them and they are not distorting I wouldn't really worry about it. Also use a subsonic filter since you are using a ported box. Set it at around 25 hz or so
