Bronze Member Username: Gsxjimmy328Oklahoma City, OK USA Post Number: 61 Registered: Jul-06 | not very big at all actually... only about 2.3 cubic feet |
Gold Member Username: Basshead86Google is your Friend, FL Post Number: 4211 Registered: Aug-05 | wth else would you need? concrete columns reinforced with rebar??? MDF braces work fine. |
Bronze Member Username: Gsxjimmy328Oklahoma City, OK USA Post Number: 62 Registered: Jul-06 | ... not sh*t? I was talking about the material, i was talking about your 2x4 theory.... Nevermind |

However, if you are really going to power the hell out of it with thousands of watts and plan to compete SPL with it, you can put a cross of mdf in the middle. |
Bronze Member Username: Gsxjimmy328Oklahoma City, OK USA Post Number: 63 Registered: Jul-06 | oh alright... I'm only gonna be putting 1000 watts to it & its just a daily driver... sooo I was just thinking along the lines of "better safe than sorry" i'll probably just put a little bit of corner bracing here and there |

Gold Member Username: Basshead86Google is your Friend, FL Post Number: 4220 Registered: Aug-05 | haha. 2x4 was just a generality. lol you can cut them anyway you wish to brace the box. i have pieces in mine that are then screwed into place from the outside of the box. |
Bronze Member Username: Gsxjimmy328Oklahoma City, OK USA Post Number: 64 Registered: Jul-06 | lol muddy.... I asked for the prefered/ best way not a generality.. Sheesh. you just got to screw with the new guy don't ya |
Bronze Member Username: Gsxjimmy328Oklahoma City, OK USA Post Number: 65 Registered: Jul-06 | ok so I didn't want to just have a plain square but but I don't wanna deal with fiberglass yet right... So I guess here's my solution. http://img138.imageshack.us/img138/5013/box1gf5.jpg I just did a quick 3d rendering of what i'd like it to look like. Angled Slightly inward and upward with the amp mounted vertically in the center. This brings up a few more questions though. I'm not exactly sure how to calculate the internal airspace with these shapes. Can someone help me out? Also since I only want about 1.25 cubes per sub I just planned on making the center amp part sealed off from the rest. Is this a good or shitty design? Any input is greatly appreciated |
