and im asking because someone said it'd help my problem

when i had my stock deck, my speakers could go louder without distortion. but now that i have a new head unit, they cant go as loud. so i jsut want to know why, considering i figured more watts to my stock speakers would make them sound/perform better

first off, the factory was not pushing neard the power to those speakers, and alot of factory radios , not matter how much you turn the knob only gets so loud. I have the 9857, take the bass out of the raqdio first off, then play with the eq settings. Also, might want to start with changing speakers and putting them on a 4 channel amp. even chanign speakers you will get distortion, radios will put out distorted power ppast a certain volume anyway....
