Hi!

I have the 5 channel JL audio 500/5 amp...the sub channel pushes only 250 watts. I know that is not much for an ideal subwoofer, I am just looking for something to best fit this amps capabilities. Currently I have an RF P2....which is definately not getting the job done. I am looking for a sub with SPL....b/c I have a real decent comp set and 6x9 set for real fill...right now I can barely here the sub over my speakers....give me any suggestions that would fill this need.

Thanks!

AA assassin, treo tsi, kicker cvr put them in a big ported box tuned around 35hz. the treo and AA will have better sq while the cvr would probally get louder.

okay dont do tha JL w7 route

u need more than 250 to do anything with that sub more like 500+

do u have room to put 2 8's or 1'8" sub upfront or do u have a console on the floor of the rear seat....

so u can have the subs in the same area as u are.... or wut....

actually 250rms to a sub will be decent but just not knock pictures off the wall

whut other componets are u running off that amp anyway

an whut size is that RF p2 ur running

front stage I have infinity 50.5cs which I am about to upgrade to the diamond d651a and i have diamond m391I 6x9's in the back. The RF I have is a 12' and also I would rather have the sub in the trunk. As I always have passengers riding....I have ample trunk space...for any set-up

I think I might go for the JLw7 8 inch...I called Tweeter and had a conversation about the amount of wattage I would be pushing to it and they said 250 is a little below optimum....but will do the job just fine. I would be underpowering it slightly, but not by much. The RMS is at 300....

Has anyone had experience with the high output wedges JL makes? The tweeter dealer had me pretty interested in them.

i'd get the assassin, put it in a ported box tuned to 35hz and call it a day. it would be a good little sql system.

Why would I buy another amp...when I have the 500/5 to run a complete system...I am looking for SQ first....so the 250 watts seems fine to me...just need a sub to fill that need.
