Would 600w RMS be overkill for one alpine type R? I saw some people with 500w RMS hooked up but I wasn't sure if 600w was too much. I was thinking of hooking up a JBL BP600.1 or if thats too much a JBL BP300.1.

The 600.1 is fine.....run the DVC in parallel to bring it down to 2ohms. The max power at 2 ohms is 600 watts. The type r can take all of it!!!!
