I dont think you need a new alternator for this amp. I have two amps running 90 amps and my lights dont even dim. But hey whatever floats your boat.

ok, I had a a8002t which is the 2 channel version of the a8000t. I had 2 audiobahn aw1005n dvc 4ohm. the a8002t is mono at 4 ohms. i decided i would wire it mono on the subs dropping it to 2ohms i assume and see what would happen so I went cruising, blasting my stereo for about 2 hours before the amp shut off, then it only took like 3 mins before it came on again. I had that amp for almost a year after that before i sold it to my brother who still uses it. I also sold him the subs which he still uses. why does everybody hate audiobahn so much, i know there is way better out there but from my experience it wasnt all that bad.

your lumina probably has the std 105A GM alternator. That should be more than enough current for the 8000T. I'd go as far as to say you could add another small amp for front spkrs w/o any major problems.
