I ment like, model numbers and stuff so I can check them out. The reason why I listed some brands were to see if any of you guys would suggest any speakers from them.

Nice speakers :-) what are you gonna power them with?

Anyone else have any other suggestions?

I'm guessing that you're looking to get coax speakers but these all come in component versions as well:
Polk DB650 - I have these in the 5.25 component version and I love them
Alpine SPS-17C2
Alpine Type-R SPR-17LP
And I know you didn't mention Infinity, but some people really like them (I'm not one of them but they are an option and it's going to come down to what sounds best to you and your friend)
Infinity Reference 6012i
Infinity Kappa 62.7i

Definately look at ebay for better prices and if you are looking to get comps, you can probably still come in under your budget if you get them there.
