Component= midbass and tweeter are seperate-the tweeter is usually mounted on the A pillar

2 way and three way speakers have the tweeter mounted to the speaker itself. 2 way has a midbass and tweeter and three way has a midbass, tweeter, and midrange normally.

Components are the best.

2 ways have 2 speakers, usually a 5 1/4 or 6 1/2 and a tweeter.
3 ways have 3 speakers, usually a 6 1/2 or 8, 3 or 4, and a tweet.

3 ways are much better if you know how to install them correctly.

the ones i mentioned are all component speakers.
2 and 3 way coaxial speakers are different than component. on a coaxial speaker all the speakers are on one individual speaker and they dont have a crossover.

I thought coaxials did have a crossover, just a crappy built-in one.
