yes if it is a dual voice coil subwoofer or you have 2 of the same woofers.

yea its one alpine type-r 12. I got the 4-ohm one not knowing that the 2 ohm works better with most amps and especially with the one that i have.

you cant chage a DVC 4 ohm sub to a 2 ohm sub. because the 4 ohm sub can be wired to a 2 or 8 ohm load and the DVC 2 ohm sub can be wired to a 1 or 4 ohm load. you cant just chage the impedences. only how they are wired. if you wanted diff ohm sub, you need to exchage it.

and the 12" type r will work with some amp but not alot of good quality amps. the first one that comes to mind would be a pheonix gold xenon 600.1 which can accept a 1-4 ohm load

with that sub you need an amp that does 500 + @ 2 ohms

* 300 watts x 1 chan. at 4 ohms
* 600 watts x 1 chan. at 2 ohms

thats amp would work perfect with that 1 sub. wire that DVC 4 ohm sub to 2 ohms and you will be set :-)

--- and you said it wouldnt work tigger

well ok now what would be a good box for them. I want them to really hit and i have a 88 blazer s-10. I had one rockford p2 12 and i though that hit pretty good and this should hit much louder and harder right?

no, lol. its ok

(2)4 ohms sub wire to a 1 or 4 ohm load
(1) 4 ohm sub wires to a 2 or 8 ohms load.

your tryin to match what the sub wires to, with the amp depending on how much power the amp puts out at that ohm load.

for quick wiring:

go to www.the12volt.com--- go to the left---- go to woofer wiring --- select one sub --- selet dual 4 ohm in the next box --- then wire to the 2 ohm load :-)
