Hi, I feel really stupid here and I'm totally new and completely at a loss. I bought a used Beetle recently with the KD-LH300 in it, and I'm trying to replace it with an Alpine something or other (one that's ipod friendly), and I can't get the JVC one out of my car. I don't have the removal keys for the stereo... any idea of how to go about getting it out of here? I'm going on a trip in a few weeks and if I'm going sans iPod, I'll be totally unhappy.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

well, you need to remove all of it, not just the radio, there may be metal cage or it is iso mounted meaning the radio is attached to factory brackets.. if you do not fuly understand, then it may be best to take it to a shop and have it done. have you bought the new Alpine yet, if not try the one CD-9857 and the ipod speed direst wire.(Alpine was giving the wire for free with that radio)

try sliding a creditcard where the keys go then take a screw driver and slowly pry it out.(at the bottom.
